First issue of 2019 - THE CHESTNUT

There are stories that you thoroughly think out and then there are stories that just knock on your door and come to you, one word at a time. This months CHESTNUT was very much the latter. I wrote it and then decided it would never see the light of day, that I would bury it in the backyard with all my other skeletons that I don't want people to see.

Then I forgot about it but when I was in the middle of making my "flash fiction issue" I stumbled upon it again and decided to take a walk on the wild side.

This is a dark one. Exceptionally dark for me. A lot gorier than I normally am and it's not typical of my writing at all. But Ramona has been a long time coming and though this isn't the way I imagined her appearing at ALL - I've been luring on her character since I first heard David Bowie's 1st Outside album - which I think happens to be his very best work - and I'm sure that this isn't the last we'll see of her. (And in no way is this Bowie's Ramona, this one is all mine, but she came to me back then - back when I was just a kid listening to Bowie).

The story is called Angel Lust and it's red. So to those who don't like violence and ... gore, keep away from this one. I promise we'll have something weird and not this horrible for the next issue. But for those who like gore, I do hope you like it and hope you'll tell me what you thought of it.

Soon available on iBooks.

This months issue of The CHESTNUT is live on Amazon.
