The Chestnut

I have been quiet here lately for no good reason, except that life has been a bit busy, unpredictable, and strange. I am writing, always, at least a little and trying to finish the short story project. In the meantime, I have been writing short stories and recently felt the urge to revive my short story zine which used to be called The Chestnut. This is a zine that, so far, has only featured my own stories, and I haven't actually published it for quite a while now.

I published this short story to see what I could do with it and to determine if I still find this fun. It turns out that I do. I posted it on Substack, but here it is on my site for posterity or just because I can. Feel free to share your thoughts on the format and tell me what you think its revival. This is just a test example, imperfect and faulty, I'm sure. If I were to do this more seriously, I would spend more time editing and ensuring it looks the way I want it to—without errors like the one staring you in the face early in the text.

I do find the story fun, if nothing else, and I hope you like it https://www.eyglo.info/_files/ugd/332389_e3162ddc3f6341f29299d83ae5999513.pdf
